WHAT I ATE WEDNESDAY: Tasting The Goodness of the Lord

WHAT I ATE WEDNESDAY: Tasting The Goodness of the Lord

Whew. HI! For food is for the stomach and the stomach for food, and God will destroy both one and the other. 1 CORINTHIANS 6:13 Last night I was brought to some of the most extensive and revealing prayer of my life. As God changed […]

MY THOUGHTS THURSDAY: Food & Thought

MY THOUGHTS THURSDAY: Food & Thought

FOOD.

My new favourite oats are perfect, and I have the recipe for you down below!

Ingredients
1 cup quick oats
2 cups water
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp Himalayan salt
2 packs stevia
1/2 Apple
2 T lemon juice
1/4 brewed coffee (or a shot of espresso!)
1 T organic peanut butter
1 T cacao
2 T water
1/2 banana, frozen and sliced
Method
1. In a pot over high heat, bring oats and 2 cups water to a boil. Boil and stir 1 minute; reduce heat and let simmer until thick and creamy.
2. In another pot, add cinnamon, salt, 2 T water, lemon juice, 1 pack stevia, coffee, and apple, diced. Bring mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally. Boil and stir one minute; reduce heat and let simmer, until much of the liquid is absorbed (about 10 minutes).
3. In small dish, place peanut butter, cacao, 2 T water, stevia, and pinch of salt. Microwave approx. 15 seconds; stir.
4. Arrange banana on top of warm oats; add chocolate peanut butter sauce and stewed cinnamon apples. Enjoy hot, or refrigerate and eat cold! Have fun adding things like maple syrup, dates, almond mylk, etc.
THOUGHT
mornings with breakfast and coffee and the Holy Spirit are most definitely my favourite time of day.
For me, waking up earlier to listen to His voice and pray and allow Him to rid the clutter is so vital. // Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. MATTHEW 10:8
I want to let this gospel speak for itself but I also want to share how the Lord spoke to me through it. Living in this world can make us think that “real” killers are human beings also within in the world… who will also die. And what is after death is FOREVER– this should bring PEACE! But our fear should not be of other humans who are capable of killing our bodies, for that only leads to a bit of a quicker “forever.” Who can kill both our soul and our bodies? I am asking the Lord to continue to reveal to me the ways that the devil is fighting for my heart.

WHAT I ATE WEDNESDAY: From Him, For Him, Through Him

Hi! Happy Wednesday!
Today’s WIAW is succinct and includes mental barriers that didn’t feel so complicated at all today. The Lord is providing incredible strength in my Spirit and I can’t explain it beyond, let me tell you, He is working in me. Because what my eating disorder wants verses what the Lord needs and delivers on are exceptionally different.
This morning I woke and prayed on 2 Cornithians the second and third chapters. Over breakfast, which was baked oats with banana and cacao peanut butter, I worked on my online course, wrote some of my novel, semi caught up on the Bachelorette, and wrote some emails regarding my dance job in September.

I went into work a little early to meet Kenya, the girl I started my Starbucks training with and who has been such a light in my life and a light of the Lord. She’s been going through a rough time and I’ve felt called to work through and with Christ’s guidance lead her toward only Him. With her I had a soy cappuccino.
I had just a quick 4 hour shift this afternoon, in the middle of which I had lunch of a cucumber with peanut butter, a cold brew coffee with a bit of soy milk, and a quest bar.

After work, I was so excited to get to Johnnys and hang with him, and then to see our friends, Ryan and Maddie. Maddie is one of the girls I have the blessing of living with next year and Ryan is her boyfriend who is an incredible guy! We had such a Christ-centered and rich time together, talking about what the Lord has been teaching each of us and leading us to, lots of laughs, and fun. They’re amazing. We went mini golfing, and then to Boston Pizza for dinner. I had a half size bow tie  chicken vegetable pasta, and I praised the Lord for my genuine hunger (rare) and ability provided by His Spirit to focus on conversation with His children. That’s one of the coolest things about God; loving on His children is glorifying Him, because of how much He loves us.
I ate white pasta and it’s only just sinking in now…. eh, I’m not gonna think about it. In this moment In fact, the Spirit won’t let me think about it. I’m just praising Him with all of me and praying on what He wants to accomplish. God. Is. SO. GOOD. Always. May His will be done and Holy name be glorified through you today and always! Jooooy

TOP TEN TUESDAY: Over the Holidays…

TOP TEN TUESDAY: Over the Holidays…

Good Morning! Sharing with you the top ten things I have done so far over the break.
Devotionals. Johnny gave me several books that I have torn through, and the Holy Spirit spoke to me through them I ways I can’t describe other than saying, accept Christ as your Saviour. Just do it, and pray about it.
Family Christmas. Spending time with aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents is a blessing. There’s nothing like having everyone together!

Gucci Girls Christmas. I’ve definitely already blogged about this, but having my whole dance group together could not have been more perfect. Making gingerbread houses and watching Christmas movies and taking ugly sweater pics– we’re ALL very cheesy people, and we all just go together.
New Camera. I am very blessed to have gotten a new canon for Christmas! I’m really excited to start taking photos and videos on it.
Party at Sammy’s. Sunday night my best friend had a party at her house with just about 30 people, all of whom I know and love spending time with. I didn’t drink, just enjoyed the company of amazing people, and oftentimes that’s better sober.

Tattoo Day with Laura. Laura has been wanting o get a tattoo that says “Keep Breathing” for a long time, and nervously worked up the courage to do so yesterday. I came with her and was/am SO PROUD of her. We also enjoyed. Vegan lunch at a raw Cafe.

Coffee Dates. I’ve been on several one-on-one coffee dates with some of my closest friends, and that is one of my very favourite things to do. Invaluable times!

Sleeping In!! Nude said?;) I work a lot over the break, but the few days I’ve been able to sleep in have been golden.
Harry Potter. I got to watch three of the Harry Potter movies this break, one with Johnny, which are my favourite movies and series on the planet.
Wishing you all a blessed day, and rest of your Christmas break. Xo
