Homemade Brown Sauce (Easy)

Chefs know how to make “brown sauce.”

It is a delicious sauce used in a variety of dishes, but I personally love it with a snack plate of crisp breads, fruit, and cheese. Snack plates like this are a go-to for me😍 And this homemade sauce is so perfect on toast with cheese! Sweet and savoury and satisfying!

Homemade Brown Sauce

1 red delicious apple, peeled, cored, and roughly chopped

2 Tbsp onion, roughly chopped

1/4 tsp nutmeg

pinch cayenne pepper

1/4 tsp ginger

2 Tbsp brown sugar

4 pitted dates, chopped

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 cup balsamic vinegar

1/4 cup water

1. Place all ingredients in microwave safe dish. Cover and microwave about five minutes, stirring halfway through.

2. Place mixture in a blender and blend until smooth. Microwave another minute.

3. Serve hot or cold with whatever you desire! This works wonderfully with meats such as pork, fruits, cheese and crackers, you name it!
