TEN THINGS TUESDAY: Non-Conventional Trends
Jesus Wake Me. We need not “try” to enter into Jesus’ presence, to create an “atmosphere” in which He “seems” more “likely” to “show up.” He is beside us always. Inviting our worship and praise. Calling our names. Restoring brokenness (Joel 2:25), our friend (John 15:12-17), and whom we are called to fear in Truth (Proverbs 1:7). As I have opened my heart to His always working Spirit alone, I have been overwhelmed by what His Spirit is doing in me for His sake.
Pancakes. I have been wanting to learn to make super circular pancakes forever and this morning, after time in the Word and in the midst of time in prayer (talking to the Lord while cooking– oh how I find Him in the gift of food, any food!), I made pancakes. With exactly what I wanted: peanut butter, a berry compote, and banana. Oh and coffee. I made up the recipe too. And ahhhhh I felt so… me while cooking. Who the Lord called me by name as for the first time I clearly heard like ten years ago. Cookin’ for realz. Yummy pancake recipe may need to be shared, eh?
Music. I keep listening to Lead Me to the Cross by Hillsong when I worship. I am particularly loving Mac Miller at the moment as well.
Work. Yesterday I made a Tuxedo mocha (check it out at Starbucks.com) for a man and he (just like my dad!) proceeded to tell me that it was the best hot drink he’d ever had. I see so much joy in connections over things like good coffee.
Room Decor. My room and house feel homier than ever.
School. Classes start again today… already… and I truly cannot believe it. Where has this break gone? I am excited to dive into my studies and ask the Lord where He’s calling me in His glory within school.
Seasons. Oh how the Lord calls us to seasons of life
My times are in Your hand; Deliver me from the hand of my enemies and from those who persecute me. PSALM 31:15
Not for “our enjoyment” (though there IS JOY), but in alignment with His Truth and our race to His Kingdom.
“Since his days are determined, The number of his months is with You; And his limits You have set so that he cannot pass.”
Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; And in Your book were all written The days that were ordained for me, When as yet there was not one of them.
Wedding. One of my favourite YouTube couples got married and their wedding video is worth watching.
Books. Alongside school readings, I am pursuing a walk with the Lord in “Guarded by Christ,” by Heather Holleman, a gift from my dear friend Josee; “A Case for Christ” by Lee Strobel; and the Ellerslie sermon books prepared by Eric Ludy.
