WHAT I ATE WEDNESDAY: Brought to Peace
Today has been wonderful. It’s one of my dearest friends’ birthdays and she has been going through a really tough time lately, but today has been her best in a while. She seemed so back to herself and getting to spend the whole day with her was incredible. I woke up pretty early and studied a few chapters of Genesis for about an hour. My study Bible is excellent for this because it goes into the authors, history, and themes. Of course, the Holy Spirit does his own work in me, and I’m prayerful and expectant to receive. I had a good breakfast of baked peanut butter banana oatmeal.
Krystal and I spent the morning making Kaitlyn’s homemade birthday gift.
We took Kaitlyn out for lunch and surprised her with the rest of our dance team! We went to Cora’s, and I had oatmeal with strawberries and blueberries for lunch.
Spending time with the dance team is so great because we always reminisce on so many memories! We spent the rest of the day with Kaitlyn just hangin out, and it was perfect. By the time I got home hours later I needed more food, and I was craving… more oatmeal! I had another small bowl with a big handful of dates and cacao powder for a snack.
I worked on papers throughout the afternoon and spent a lot of time hangin in the basement making dance combos with Krystal. It’s been great spending time with her. For dinner, I had brown rice with some plain veggies.
After din, I met Daniella for a quick catch up over tea. This girl is so beyond words, such an angel and someone I can forever tell anything to. She has been through so much and consistently is such a light. After homework time with her, when I got home, my stomach was growling! I began to think about what Id eaten throughout the day, my eating disorder tempted to count it all up to see if I was “allowed” to eat more, but I knew I needed more food and that was that. I went safe and simple and just had a snack of more oatmeal with banana and peanut butter.
Yes this was another day with lots of oatmeal which is my safe food but also happens to be one of my favourite foods. I genuinely think this happened to be a day where I just wanted a lot of oatmeal, but it’s something I will keep an eye out for as I know it has been too much of a safety net in the past.
Blessings and Prayers as always, for more days continually renewed by the Holy Spirit and willing to walk wherever He calls you.
