MOTIVATION MONDAY: Homemade Salad Dressing

Hey All! Today’s motivation is a recipe series of homemade salad dressings. The bottled stuff comes with suuuuch an array of chemicals, unpronounceable words, and fillers and the hearty taste of real ingredients may surprise you.

Here are the best ones I’ve created. Each recipe serves 8 and keeps in the fridge for up to a week.

Thai Peanut Dressing

1/2 cup all natural peanut butter

1/4 cup grapeseed oil

1/2 tsp cayenne

1/2 tsp coriander

1 1/2 tsp basil

1/2 tsp black pepper

pinch salt

1-2 Tbsp water, if necessary

Citrus Vinaigrette

2 tsp lemon zest

juice of half a lemon

1/2 c grapeseed oil

2 Tbsp agave

2 Tbsp red wine vinegar

pinch Himalayan salt

Honey Dijon Dressing

1/2 cup honey

1/3 cup Dijon mustard

1/2 tsp marjoram

1-2 Tbsp water

pinch salt

Vegan Ranch Dressing

1/4 cup almond milk, boiled and cooled

1/4 cup vegan butter

1 Tbsp lemon juice

1 tsp pepper

1 tsp garlic flakes

pinch salt

For all recipes, mix ingredients in a small bowl. Transfer to small container with lid and shake well. Pour over salad.

One of my favourite cafes is having a competition in which anyone can submit an original recipe for a grain bowl with a photo. The winner’s bowl is permanently sold at the cafe along with a cash prize and the chance to market their ideas in partnership with the cafe. I’m going to work really hard on this and keep you updated, because it sounds like a dream to me!

Have a blessed Monday!✌️💞

Welcome! Ever since I was a little girl I have wanted to own a blog, and I created this one to inspire others and help myself. I am a passionate twenty something-year old woman with a love of cooking, tap dancing, and meeting new people-- and of course, primarily an intention to die to my human self and seek God with my whole being. I will eat anything with peanut butter and love spontaneity. I aim to live life in submission to what Christ has for me. I'm currently studying Christian Theology and English at Wilfrid Laurier University in Ontario, Canada.
