TOP TEN TUESDAY: February Birthdays
I wrote a post a while ago about how much I love birthdays and how important they are to me, just because it’s a specific chance to show love to someone you appreciate. I have nine incredible people in my life with February birthdays and thought I’d dedicate a top “nine” to them.
Haylie. Haylie, “Haylo,” is someone I don’t get to see often but who I will consider a sister for my lifetime nonetheless. I have known her and her beautiful heart and soul since eighth grade and she has an incredible spirit and humour and is the best listener I’ve ever met.
Krystal. I am so blessed by the greatest older sister possible. A woman who always listens, always cares, and who God has been doing amazing things in recently. Who I love sharing things with and who I could talk to forever!
Mom. My mom is the greatest mom a person could ask for. She cares so much about us and is currently trying to convince me not to move out because she cries at the thought of it. She loves her family unconditionally and works so hard for all of us.
Jake. My brother since I was ten years old, Jake and I met in an acting class when he first moved to this city and grew through high school together, sticking by each others’ side no matter what. I always wanted a big brother and it doesn’t get better than him.
Carolyn. One of my best friends’ Sam’s mom, Carolyn, is truly like my second mom. I walk into her house like its my own, can tell her anything, and she is honest to goodness the most generous and selfless woman I’ve ever known.
Katie. My older cousin Katie was diagnosed with anorexia a year before I was. When I was diagnosed, she was at my side, giving me advice, texting me every single day to make sure I was doing ok.
Steve. My boyfriend’s brother Steve, while I haven’t known him long, has already made such an impact in my life. He has such a passionate heart and I’ve had better conversations about movies and books with him than I have with anyone else.
Mary. Mary is a wonderful, beautiful girl who I am blessed enough to share my Christian Studies program with. We are also living together next year, and the joy in her hear and love for Jesus is infectious and purely Him.
Michele. Michele is also an incredible girl in my program, sharing so many traits with Mary of just genuineness, love for the Lord first, and compassion.
There’s nothing like an opportunity to brag about some of the incredible humans God’s blessed me to know, and birthdays are just an opportunity not to lift up their human selves but to appreciate and love all that Jesus is in them.
