MY THOUGHTS THURSDAY: Birthdays

I have this thing with birthdays. I think it’s because there’s one day of each year that can be dedicated to celebrating a certain person and I just really think that everyone deserves that. We all deserve love and support and to feel important, and theres something great about making someone else feel that way for their special day.
I have always hated when people say, “people are so temporary.” I just can’t understand that. I’ve talked to too many people coming into university that have said that they feel that their friends are gone to them now that they’re going to different unis. How is this possible?! How can circumstance come between friendship? It can’t. To me that is selfishness. If one thinks that just because their life is taking them on a new journey, meeting new people and maybe even miles away, that that removes a loved one/friend from their life, then they are too caught up in their own life, or thinking that the other person is too.
I know I’m rambling, but I created this series for that very purpose ;). If someone means something to another, they should be stood by through thick and thin. And if something like distance threatens the relationship, all the more reason to show that person how much you care.
Mutual effort is important, yes, but not if you’re not trying only because the other person isn’t. Life is crazy, and people can annoy us. But I would rather err on the side of love and faith in humanity rather than expecting someone to let us down.

Welcome! Ever since I was a little girl I have wanted to own a blog, and I created this one to inspire others and help myself. I am a passionate twenty something-year old woman with a love of cooking, tap dancing, and meeting new people-- and of course, primarily an intention to die to my human self and seek God with my whole being. I will eat anything with peanut butter and love spontaneity. I aim to live life in submission to what Christ has for me. I'm currently studying Christian Theology and English at Wilfrid Laurier University in Ontario, Canada.
