OKAY, SO.
When I found out that the latest and greatest TikTok recipe trend was baked oats, I was a little… well, if I’m honest, peeved.
I mean… I’ve been making baked oats for years. And it’s really not rocket science.
Honestly, ask my husband: the amount of oatmeal I consume is pretty absurd. If you cut my open, oats would probably pour out.
I know there are zillions of recipes out there for them, too, but my own version can’t get simpler or tastier. And it’s sooo versatile (like all of them are).
Now, not that I’m mad about the trend – I’m happy more people are discovering this delicious, nutritious, affordable recipe that makes oats so elevated and exciting! I hope my simple, just-a-few-ingredients staple recipe is one that can become a staple in your house too.

Baked Oats
Makes 1 LARGE serving or 2 regular servings
Ingredients
1 cup oats (rolled, flake… whatever you want)
1 cup water or milk of choice
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1-2 Tbsp sweetener of choice (I used 1 tbsp stevia)
1 cup fruit of choice (I used dark sweet cherries here, but diced apple, sliced banana, stone fruits like peaches, and other berries are also delicious)
Nut butter of choice for topping
Other toppings as desired (chocolate chips, coconut flakes, granola, more fruit, roasted nuts, syrup… go nuts!)Method
1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.
2. In a small, deep ovenproof dish, combine oats with liquid, baking powder, salt, and sweetener. Allow to soak in the fridge for 5-10 minutes.
3. Mix the fruit into the soaked oats. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
4. Drizzle with nut butter and top with other desired toppings. Dig in!
