Today I was blessed by a lot of conversations about Jesus our Romancer.
My beautiful roommate Mary used this word to describe His pursuit, and I thought about just how true it is. How wonderfully He loves us, how undeserving we are of it.
Here are just a few pieces of Scripture that He’s used to show me His pursuing nature.
His mercies are new every morning. Lamentations 3:23
I will instruct you and teach you the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you. Psalm 32:8
Whatever you have asked in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. Mark 11:24
He is greater than the burdens you are carrying. Cast your burden upon the LORD and He will sustain you. Psalm 55:22
My grace is all that you need. 2 Corinthians 12:9
If God is all you have, you have all you need. John 14:8
For He called you out of the darkness into His wonderful light. 1 Peter 2:9

He makes beauty out of ashes. Isaiah 61:3
When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. Isaiah 41:2
We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to break down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. 2 Corinthians 10:4
Jesus, thank-you that You drew me to You all day, and that “at the mention of Your name every chain breaks.” Thank-you that You’re working that so tangibly for Your sake through my life. I praise you for the gift of new life in You every day, and I thank you that you are always, always, never-failingly consistent with who you say you are, You are love. May our hearts ache as they were created to for Your presence, and then do nothing but espouse what you indwell.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that we may not perish but have eternal life.
